Regarding the report: ‘Worker at
Garda HQ found with child porn loses case against dismissal’, I find it truly shocking that that same man who
was convicted of possessing child porn on his computer had that charge struck
out by giving just €2500 to charity.
Mr Anthony Purdy now has a clean
record if he chooses to apply for a new job, and that means any kind of work
even that related to childcare. In effect, this was a form of judicial bribery. It is, if nothing else, further
proof of Irelands historical tradition of a benevolent tolerance regarding the
abuse of children by either passive or extremely dangerous paedophiles.
For those that think that downloading or possessing child
pornography is not really a crime except only in ones head, it is worth
reminding them that pressing the keys of ones visa card details into a
computer to access these vile images is the final reward for the pornographer,
yet had a beginning for a child that was either kidnapped, abused, raped,
sodomised, and drugged
